     2b. Domains
  •  A domain is a logical or thematic grouping of concepts, often aligned with specific healthcare areas, medical specialities, or administrative functions.  Domains help structure and limit the scope of concepts to a particular context, ensuring that terminology management is more focused and relevant to specific areas of interest.
  • KNHTS is currently organized in 11 domains as shown below. They will be discussed in depth in a different chapter.

  • 2c. Organizations 
  • An organization refers to a collective group or entity that manages, curates, and distributes terminologies, dictionaries, or collections of concepts. Organizations serve as administrative and management units that own and control the resources, such as concept dictionaries, mappings, and collections, within the platform.

  •  2d. Announcements 
• This Announcement page serves as a communication tool to inform users about important updates, changes, and relevant news related to the service. It is a centralized place where administrators can post announcements to keep the user community informed.

  • The resources page serves as a central hub where users can access various materials and tools that support their use of the service. This page typically includes documentation, tutorials, guidelines, and other resources that help users understand, navigate, and effectively utilize the terminology service.

This Button is used for requesting an account to enable a user to perform more actions within the TS such as downloading concepts. For more information, click on the Request Account guide  here.

 1 Search bar is a text input field where users can type keywords or phrases to find specific information within the TS.

2. A search button is a clickable button, placed next to the search bar, that users can click to initiate the search process. 

Once you type keywords of the info you are serching for, click the Search button.

Concept Domains

This tab navigates you to the Domains page. Here you can see all the Domains in TS in one page and select whichever you would like to browse through.

Sources

Sources refer to the origins or authoritative references from which terms, definitions, and related metadata are derived, maintained, and managed. These sources ensure that the terminology used is accurate, consistent, and standardized across different systems, applications, or organizations.

Currently, KNHTS has used the following sources for each of the domains' content

1. Classification of Diseases - International Classification of Diseases 11th Edition
2. Diagnostic Services (Lab & Imaging) - Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC)  and National Public Health Laboratories
3. Human Resources for Health - Ministry of health
4. Health Products and Technologies - Pharmacy and Poisons Board
5. Community Health -  https://www.health.go.ke/
6. Health Procedures and Services -  International Classification of Diseases 11th Edition
7. Health Infrastructure - Pharmacy and Poisons Board
8. Functioning Disability & Health  - International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF)
9. Billing and e-Claims Management - Ministry of health
10. HPT - Medical Devices - Pharmacy and Poisons Board
11. Supply Chain Management - Logistics & Supply Chain LSC

Other sources used for reference are World Health Organization (WHO)

 Collections

Collections refer to organized groups of concepts, codes, terms, or other related data that are grouped based on specific criteria, themes, or purposes.

You can only create organizations and collections only when you are an authenticated user of KNHTS

Domains refer to specific categories or areas of focus within which concepts, codes, and terms are grouped. Domains help organize the terminology into logical, functional, or thematic areas, making it easier for users to navigate, manage, and apply the relevant concepts based on their specific needs or the context in which the terminology is being used.

The Submit Request button is used to formally request the addition of a new concept to the terminology service. By clicking this button, users can propose a new term or concept that is not currently available within the system, providing the necessary details and justification for its inclusion. This request is then reviewed by the appropriate authorities or administrators within the service, who evaluate its relevance, accuracy, and consistency with existing terminology before approving and integrating the new concept into the system.

To request for a new concept, click on the "Submit Request" Button and fill out the form below correctly then click "SUBMIT" Button.

Quick links are shortcuts or easily accessible hyperlinks that direct users to frequently used or important sections, pages, or resources within a website, application, or digital platform. In KNHTS, they are found at the bottom centre of the homepage
